Gypsum plasterboard for painting with own hands

Let's talk about leveling the plasterboard surface for painting in more detail. We mean shpatlevanie and grinding of the putty.

First of all, let's talk about the types of dry putty that conquer professionals. There are at least two brands of putty , which the professionals are still arguing about. This is the filler for the finishing works from Knauf and the Turkish Saten Gips (ABS). The first putty of the last modification has in its composition a lot of additives, including glue, which allows you not to use after the putty primers, and the price is less, but the second putty is more white, it is easier to work with, although it requires a primer strengthening. This, of course, is a matter of taste and pocket, but I would recommend ABS with a primer of deep penetration of Ceresit, which fills all pores with a homogeneous film.

So, shpatlevanie. The solution must be prepared quickly and correctly. In a bucket, a clean bucket, water is poured, cold water to half a bucket. Then into the water, gradually, spraying, the powder of the putty is tossed in until it covers the water mirror. Mixer (construction), all this is mixed up to the consistency of thick sour cream. Kneading on the first layer must be done more densely, and subsequent kneading should be every time lighter.

The first thing I want to note is that you do not need to make everything perfect from the first layer, this is more true of the technology of wet smoothing, but we are considering the method dry grinding. Do approximately the same thickness of the layer, and after drying, you can help sanding the mesh on the bar to make a flat plane.

The first plane will be covered with risks and holes, but it is necessary. The first layer after grinding should be fixed with a primer, which will not allow at the subsequent grinding remove excess.

The subsequent layers are made with the aim of sealing the shells and the risks of the first layer. They are easily ground with a fine grinding net of the 120th number.

Sequential layers with priming make the surface of drywall smooth and even as an egg shell, which is what we need.

Under the wallpapering of the wallpaper with such wallpaper, of course, it is not necessary, but when staining, this is the most necessary tool.

That's how we level the surfaces of plasterboard surfaces.
